Battle for Top 4 continues…

(PM EWHL) European Women’s Hockey League: 7 EWHL games will be played this weekend and in all 7 there will be teams involved that are fighting for a Top 4 position…

And as the games between Team Poland Silesia Brackens and HK SZ Olimpija Ljubljana were now declared as forfeited in favour of Team Poland (5-0) the latter could even jump into the top 4 after this weekend. They will play the KEHV Lakers in Kattowice twice. The team from Carinthia just has two wins yet and is on 9th place right now. While 42 goals against show that they work well defensively on the contrary one goal scored per game on average shows where this team really has problems. And for the hosts the situation is clear: the more points, the more chances to qualify for the Final 4.

MAC and KMH Budapest will play Salzburg and Bolzano this weekend. While MAC is already qualified and can start the preparations for the final tournament, KMH needs at least either 1 point against EVB Eagles South Tyrol or 2 points against Salzburg for definite qualification. While the guest teams from Italy and Austria need every possible point to keep their chances alive. A bit more easy is just the situation for the Sabres – they will play a road game against Olimpija Ljubljana. The Slovenians are on last place right now and urgently would need points to leave this position.
