First Season Loss for KMH

26 Januar 2020

(PM EWHL) European Women’s Hockey League: 362 days without loss and a 27 games winning streak – such impressive series ended for KMH Budapest this Saturday with a 2-3 home loss against EVB Eagles South Tyrol…

The guests scored all three goals in first period, KMH came back with 2 power play goals in second but was not able to turn the game anymore. Though they had 36-10 face off wins and 26-17 shots finally. This result also means that the Hungarians are still not qualified for the play offs yet – next chance is the Sunday game against Salzburg where they need at least two points to make the Final 4 definitely.

Not so surprising were the other results: KEHV Lakers kept the game in Katowice open for two periods (2-2 after 40 minutes) but a 3-0 in last one meant 3 points for Team Poland. MAC Budapest already decided the game against Salzburg in first period with a 5-0 lead – finally there was a 7-3 on the scoreboard. And the Sabres Vienna let Olimpija no chance – 13-3.
