Eagles start EWHL season with a shutout

EVB Eagles South Tyrol kicked off the new season with a shutout win over Aisulu Almaty. For the Kazakh team, it was already their second narrow away loss in a row.

Aisulu Almaty faced a tough start to the season with back-to-back games. After a close 2-3 loss on Friday against Bratislava, the Kazakh team was defeated again on Sunday by EVB Eagles South Tyrol in a shootout. During regulation, both goaltenders stole the show. Canadian netminder Rachel Seeley (AIS) made numerous saves and, like her counterpart Ilaria Girardi (EVB), kept the score sheet clean. After a scoreless 65 minutes, Kristen Guerriero sealed the win for the South Tyrol team in the shootout.
