Huskies in Play Offs

Feb 17, 2024 | Bundesliga

European Women’s Hockey League (EWHL): league newcomer EC Graz Huskies beat the SKN Sabres St. Pölten 4-1 and secure the play off ticket. In the Budapest city derby MAC won 3-1…

This means the first league loss for Hokiklub Budapest in 2023-24 season and also the first derby win for MAC since February 5, 2022. The latter also climbed on 4th place now by passing St. Pölten and Almaty. On the other side the Huskies secured their play off ticket in first season.

Now only 3 teams battle for the 8th and last open spot in play offs. And all these teams will play on Sunday. At 11.15 a.m. Budapest Jegkorong Akademia will fight against the EVB Eagles South Tyrol. In a direct duel where loosing is practically forbidden for both of them, but especially for the guests from Italy. Because a Bolzano loss would mean even the theoretical chance is gone. Depending on the other result BJA could stay in the race at least mathematically. By the way – in the other game St. Pölten will play against the Lakers who are ahead of Budapest Academy with 4 points right now. So a day full of action can be expected.
