SKP impressive against Leader

Dez 10, 2023 | EWHL

European Women’s Hockey League (EWHL): Leader Tauron Metropolia Silesia from Poland plays in Bratislava this weekend and in the first game SKP won with a clear result…

Almost 16 minutes were needed by the home team to score the first goal. Which was the only in the starting period. After the second period there was already a 3-0 lead on the scoreboard. In third Bratislava was unstoppable and added 5 more goals for an 8-0 in the end.

Beside that all other results were quite close: Almaty lost against defending Champion HK Budapest 1-4 and fell back on fourth place while the Hungarians are on the way to first place already before the Christmas break. Budapest Jegkorong Akademia beat the KSV Neuberg Highlanders 3-2 and comes now closer to a top 8 position. The KEHV Lakers ended their bad series with 4 consecutive losses with an important win against the Eagles South Tyrol – a direct competitor for a play off spot. Graz was leading for a long time against MAC, but lost then in the shootout. However – a point against last years vice Champion could also help the league newcomer in the end to stay among the first 8 teams. Very close to a sensational result were the Eagles Salzburg against the SKN Sabres St. Pölten – about three minutes before the end they were still leading 2-1 – a shorthander 196 seconds before the end plus an additional goal with 112 remaining seconds meant a 3-2 victory for the road team and prevented a bit upset…
